Star of Wonder, Star of Night

The grounds of Poplar Grove will be lit up and twinkling, so bring blankets and chairs, family and friends, and spend a small part of the evening under the stars. There will be a bonfire for roasting marshmallows, wagon rides through Abbey Nature Preserve, and the Grinch has his Toy Junk Shop in the Blacksmith Studio. Classic Christmas movies will have outdoor screenings and local vendors will offer holiday gifts for sale. Coolers and picnickers are welcome.

Admission is $5 per person, 12 and younger are free.

Candlelight Tours

Guided Candlelight tours in the Poplar Grove Manor House are at 5, 6, 7, and 8 p.m. Each tour is limited to 15 people and costs $15, including festivities on the grounds and refreshments in the courtyard after the tour. Reservations are required.

Each manor house room will be decorated by theme and color inspired by the Foys’ Colonial-through-Victorian family history. It’s an elegant and old-fashioned celebration of our history and Christmas!

Arts, Crafts & Gift Show

A special two-day Arts, Crafts & Gift Show featuring more than 90 local vendors takes place Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 10 and 11, 2016. Meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, take pictures with the farm animals who are dressed for the holiday, and hear scheduled readings of poplar Christmas books. On the hour are wagon rides through the nature preserve. Admission to the gift show is $5, 12 & under are free.

All proceeds benefit historic Poplar Grove Plantation.
