8 Reasons Everyone in Wilmington Is Excited For Fall
We love Summer in Wilmington, NC, with long days and evenings at the beach, lots of sunshine, and boating. But when the days cool off a bit, we’re ready to welcome Fall and all it has to offer!
Here are 8 reasons to love Fall in Wilmington
1. Dogs Can Go on the Beach
Dogs love the beach! Of course our canines are a bit of a pain when it’s crowded in summertime. But it’s so nice when you can take your best friend back to the shore, let him sniff the sea air, and take a long walk.
2. The Tourists Head Home
We’re glad to see them come here—in Wilmington, we depend on tourists. But we’re glad to see them go, too. In the Fall, when there aren’t as many tourists, there’s a lot less traffic and more room on the beach. We’re ready to stretch out.
3. Gala Season Is Coming Up
Cool weather means big parties are on the way. It’s fun to pull out your dancing shoes from the back of the closet and step out in style, all for a good cause. Remember Event Shuttle Service is here to help! With sparkling cars or 12-person shuttles, we’d love to set the stage for your grand entrance to your favorite gala. A list of upcoming galas.
4. Less Humidity
And more amazing weather! Warm days and cool nights make autumn the most pleasant season in Wilmington. Fall is a great time to enjoy area parks, sporting events, or just sitting outside on the deck or the dock.
Scare up some fun for Halloween this fall! Wilmington hosts a lot of spooky celebrations, including The Haint Blue Ghost Tours and Masquerade at Poplar Grove Plantation, Zombiefest at Ironclad Brewery, or for the little ones, Batty Battleship’s Halloween Blast. Call Event Shuttle Service to book a ride and help you find your way home after a Haunted Pub Crawl in downtown Wilmington. Click here for more local Halloween events.
6. Beer & Wine Festival
For some, fall means one thing: The Lighthouse Beer and Wine Festival, set for Oct. 24, 2015. There’s a Voracious & Rare Beer Tasting the night before on the Battleship deck, and it’s all part of beer week. Raise a glass and ride home safely with Event Shuttle Service.
7. Hotel Rates Are Cheaper
When family and friends come to visit—and while the water’s still warm, they do—we sometimes need extra room for the overflow. If your guest room’s full, you’ll be glad to see that rates at the local hotels have come down considerably for the fall. If your guests need a ride from the airport, be sure to call Event Shuttle Service.
Finally, it’s comfortable to get out there and run. Fun races this fall include the Wilmington YMCA Sprint on September 19, the Spot Festival 5K on Sept. 26, Run for the Ta-Tas Oct. 3, and the Beach 2 Battleship Full and Half Iron Triathlon Oct. 27, just to name a few. Click here for a full list.
We at Event Shuttle Service hope you’re ready to get outside for the season, and if we can help, please let us know. We’re always happy to make your event easier by handling the fuss of driving, traffic, and parking so you can have fun, or even a couple of drinks.
