The City of Wilmington presents a 4th of July Celebration featuring live music by the 440th Army Band in Riverfront Park and food vendors on Water Steet until 9pm. The annual display of pyrotechnics originating from a barge on the Cape Fear River begins at 9:05pm.

Watch the Wilmington Sharks Baseball team take on the Edenton Steamers

Plain League game at Buck Hardee Field in Wilmington, NC. General admission is $6.50 (military and seniors are $5.50) and children under 6 are FREE.

Thalian Association presents the Port City premiere of Red at the Red Barn Studio Theatre in Wilmington, NC. The 2010 Tony Award winner for Best Play explores the life of acclaimed artist Mark Rothko in his New York studio in 1958. While painting murals for the prestigious Four Seasons restaurant, his assistant Ken boldly proclaims his skepticism for such a commercial project. This confrontation between two highly intelligent men of different generations and points of view becomes a metaphor for life in America at the time.
